All of us dream each night, but we may not remember what we have dreamed about. A dream can often be about people or situations in your life that you are familiar with. This is because the events are in your subconscious. There are also links to symbols in your dreams about feelings you have. For example a dream about your teeth falling out can have to do with feelings you are trying to hide from others and you are feeling very guilty for doing so.
Some people really are fascinated with understanding their dreams. There are numerous books out there that tell you what a particular dream meant. There are also websites out there where people discuss their dreams with each other. It isn’t always easy to remember dreams though to be able to analyze them. Other people can remember the colors, the words, and even certain smells that are associated with their dreams.
The best way to work at remembering your dreams is to train your body to do so. Tell yourself each night before you go to sleep that you are going to remember what you dream about. You should keep a notebook and a pen by your bed as well. Get into the habit of writing down your dreams each morning when you wake up. This will help you to remember the details.
Don’t worry about writing the dreams in a logical manner. You can write short sentences or even draw pictures that are fresh in your memory. As you practice remembering your dreams it will become easier for you to do so. If you are experiencing unpleasant dreams known as nightmares you may be able to find out why by writing about your dreams.
Nightmares can happen after a traumatic event such as an accident. They are often the result of events that take place, even if they are part of your subconscious. Children of all ages can experience nightmares. They can make it difficult to sleep and to get a good night of rest. Some people experience the same nightmare over and over again. Others may have one after watching a scary movie or thinking about a given situation.
